San Francisco, Nayarit, Mexico

Any exploration of Mexico just leaves us craving more! More gorgeous landscapes, warm waves, colorful ingredients and delicious food, more art, more everything! That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our newest yoga retreat for March 31 – April 6 of 2024, six nights in in tropical paradise on the Nayarit coast!

Deepen your yoga practice with both morning and evening classes, meditations, and philosophy talks guided by Carrie. Flavorful, locally-sourced, vegan meals will be offered by both Chef Zach and a local chef. Our retreat center offers accommodations up close and person with nature, a private beach with bentonite clay for a spa-like experience, a pool, a gorgeous yoga deck, and more!

“The Tailwind Jungle lodge was built with love by the Jacobi family in 2007. Retreats and adventurers (couples, families, honeymooners, solo travelers) from around the globe delight in this radiant jungle and stunning wild beaches.

Our jungle motto? Enjoy life! Creatively designed bungalows, palapas and casitas are perched amidst the palms, offer glamping and tree-house style comfort with Swiss Family Robinson vibes. Every day here is an adventure—kayaking, hiking, sailing, yoga, massage, SUP, surfing, and chilling in the hammock.

You deserve an adventure. It’s time to feel alive, inspired and reconnected to the natural world. We look forward to sharing our jungle home with you. Natural bliss awaits!”

We’ll include sailing, sea kayaking, and hiking group adventures, along with plenty of free time to explore on your own!

Post-retreat option:

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will pass over parts of Mexico, North America, and Canada. We will be viewing the eclipse from Mazatlan, which is just 400 km north of our retreat location. In Mazatlan we will be in the path of eclipse totality for over 4 minutes! If you haven’t ever viewed an eclipse from the path of totality, this may be your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Talk to us about sharing transport and accommodation in Mazatlan if you’d like to extend your trip three extra nights and see this phenomena occur on April 8!

Nayarit is a very safe, touristy state in Mexico. Zach and I have traveled extensively in the region. If you haven’t been to Mexico before you can trust in our competency and Spanish speaking abilities as guides! Please let us know if you have any questions!

The closest airport is Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport in Puerto Vallarta. The airport is about 50 km away from the retreat venue. We will assist you with arranging shared airport shuttles to reduce the cost.

Travel booking option:
Since I get a lot of requests for assistance anyway, I decided to offer a new flight booking service for all my retreat guests and friends!
You provide me with your desired travel dates and airports and I will find you the cheapest, best flights possible and book them for you, no extra charge.
I’m a pretty good “travel hacker” thanks to years of experience. We can do this together via Zoom to confirm everything or I’ll make sure to triple check everything with you before booking!
This benefits YOU if online flight searching stresses you out or you just don’t find it fun.
Full disclosure, it benefits Zach and I because I book most of our travel using our credit card points. We have a lot of travel planned this year so we need as many points as possible. You’ll reimburse me and I’ll get the frequent flyer miles to fund my own travel habit, haha.
Could be a win win for all of us?
-Carrie

Since all retreat deposits and payments are used to secure venues, activities, and supplies, and since canceled spots require extra time and energy to re-fill, all deposits and payments are non refundable. In emergency situations, you may or may not be offered a credit for a future retreat or event, based on the decision of our team. Cancellations due to fear of travel are not transferable or refundable. Cancellations less than 1 month before your retreat are not refundable or transferable. We recommend travel insurance to protect your investment in the event you must cancel.

Carrie and Zach are incredible! My wife and I attended the retreat in Baja this year and it was truly so special. From morning yoga and meditation, to ziplining, surfing and the delicious food they provided- everything was perfect. I felt so safe and supported in the community they helped create for the long weekend. Definitely recommend booking a trip with these guys !! 😍
